HEALTHY HOLIDAY MINDFULNESS

It’s that time of year. The holidays will be here before we know it!! First comes Halloween, then Thanksgiving and Christmas, and what comes with that? FOOD, FAMILY AND FUN! Then we begin a new year and we want to make New Year’s Resolutions.

Here are some tips and tricks I would like to share:

Halloween

¨ Have a healthy dinner before reaching into the trick or treat basket.

¨ Pass out pretzels, healthier treats or stickers vs. high sugar candy.

¨ Get your daily workouts in, it will help benefit your mind, body and spirit.

¨ Always drink your daily water intake.

Thanksgiving/Christmas

¨ Prepare a healthy dish to bring to family gatherings.

¨ Eat your protein first and then your vegetables.

¨ Talk more than you eat.

¨ Get your daily workouts in, it will help benefit your mind, body and spirit.

¨ Always drink your daily water intake

¨ Be mindful of what you put on your plate and enjoy the nourishment it is giving your body.

Mindfulness is the quality or state of being conscious or aware of food being your source of fuel and not comfort. Let’s all do our best to practice mindfulness this holiday season.

Yours in health,
